Hello From East Maitland

Plenty of activity at the shop this passed few weeks. Groups are still coming everyday of the week, ranging from patchwork to tapestry. Always laughter and chatting coming from the back room, which makes my days cheerful, interesting and pleasant. Lots of new stock in, exciting ranges from Tilda, Robyn Pandolph, the most adorable panel with coordinating prints called The Magic of Oz. Also a range called the Secret Garden by Wilmington Prints, so beautiful and special. Loads more coming each week. Looking forward to some other changes in the shop, like a lick of paint and possibly new flooring to revamp the old place. All in planning mode, hoping it will happen sooner than later. I've moved things around a little also, just to change the perspective and brighten things up :) Hope everyone is enjoying the cooler weather, keeping and well and enjoying their patchwork. Take care. Carmel :)

End of sale!

My sale has come to an end and I would like to thank you all for your support and enthusiasm. Glendoon Patchwork Cottage has been a hive of activity this passed few weeks. I have classes and groups in the back room each day of the week now. We have quite the social event most days, sharing everything from ideas, patterns, food and coffee. The best coffee in town is made on my doorstep by "Cafe To You", a mobile coffee van!! The group activities include patchwork, tapestry and embroidery.

A New Year Begins

Hello 2014!! Hasn't that come around fast, seems like only months ago we started 2013 and began planning our year. Now we are reflecting and beginning another chapter. It has been a busy few months at Glendoon Patchwork Cottage, for me personally too. Recently loosing my dear Mum has been very difficult and sad. I have been hit hard and miss her terribly and realise this loss and pain is going to take alot of time to heal. I am eternally grateful to all my customers for their compassion and empathy.

As Christmas approaches get festive!

Welcoming myself back the "blog" world after afew weeks of silence. Busy times visiting Melbourne, restocking the shop with fabulous fabrics and all things patchwork. Lots of fun!!

Wanted to share some little treats i've made for my grandchildren's christmas tree's. Simple, not time consuming christmas decorations that will bring years of memories and festivity to the children :) Last night we had 6 of our 9 grandchildren over for a baked dinner and to decorate our christmas tree, special times for us all :)

Glendoon Patchwork Cottage is on Facebook !!

Hello followers, new and old :) We are on Facebook, some of you may already have liked our page, for others come over and take a look. I post projects, sales and products. I do all this via my daughter, as I myself are "in my 60's" and have a limited computer/technology ability "wink wink". I am soon to learn the business of websites and social media. Until then I speak through my 35 yr old daughter, a nurse and mother of two little ones. I have another daughter locally, mother of 4 & owner of online store www.

Patchwork for the grandchildren

1st October 2013 - Simple  quilts made for my grandchildren, they find the comfort and joy in having "their own" quilt, just as I found the same joy in patchworking for them :) xxxooo
